The 24-year old, No. 2 world ranked tennis superstar not only has a recent Rome title, profitable contracts with Nike, Cole Haan, Tiffany, Tag Heuer and Sony Ericsson, an estimated $24.5 million between June 2009 and June 2010 alone, starred in Sport`s Illustrated Swimsuit cover, but is also coming out with her own line of candy called Sugarpova.
In a recent interview at the Indian Wells tournament in California, Maria Sharapova admitted she has a guilty pleasure; candy. Sharapova has been hard at work on the court and in the candy factory, “It`s really fun, I have a huge sweet tooth and I thought why not do something that I`m really passionate about…”
Sugarpova will be tennis-themed candy like sweets shaped like tennis balls and even come wrapped in packages that resemble tennis ball containers. Maria Sharapova says she has really been involved with the process, “I`m all about the details from the packaging to the actual candy.”
Sharapova hopes that her new line of candy will be coming out by the end of this year. I can`t wait to try it!
